The AUC produces a high quality log book and Alberta Dive Guide available to members and dive stores. The Dive Guide includes locations and conditions of many of the popular dive sites in Alberta. Divers can also use the log book to record their dives and order refill pages to maintain an ongoing and informative individual log book. (Currently being updated for publication in Spring 2012). Log book refills are also available.
AUC event or dive club volunteers (Divemaster or Instructor level) are encouraged to apply for insurance coverage within the AUC Liability Program at no cost in appreciation of their volunteer assistance at the dive events & lake cleanups or for volunteering with their club. Please contact the AUC office for more details.
Underwater Alberta
Newsletters are produced Spring, Summer & Fall/Winter Editions
yearly. The publications update and inform members of all
activities of the Council. They try to provide current technical
and safety information plus news of the members, clubs &
supporters affiliated with the AUC.
An eMail Bulletin goes out (usually monthly) to a data base of interested members with news & reminders of upcoming events, happenings, store news, trips, sales, course schedules, etc.
The AUC Office houses a resource library of videos, magazines, brochures, posters, and other reference material available to loan to all current members. A complete listing of the resource library to come soon! Loan of books, video's, dvd's, etc, are available to members for maximum of 4 weeks with their credit card. Please contact the AUC office for more details.
The AUC is developing a Public Service Announcement video for airing throughout Alberta and Canada. The video's aim is to educate divers and boaters about the importance of recognizing and understanding the meaning of the Diver Down flag.
In addition to this, the AUC attends many provincial outdoor adventure and boat shows to help educate our boaters about the meaning of the Dive Flag and to promote our programs to the public.
Volunteers Wanted: AUC volunteers are asked to put up dive flag safety awareness signs at docks, marinas, lakes and other common dive sites to help make the public aware that divers also use the local waters & how their actions when boatings will help prevent tragedies & save lives!
AUC has supported dive clubs to help purchase AED & 02 Kits, plus additional safety gear that's provided at most AUC Dive Alberta & Lake Cleanup events whenever possible
See here for AUC's Safe Diver Decree and AUC's Diver Safety at Events!
All registered & current members participating in AUC sanctioned events are covered by our small sport accident insurance policy.
However, divers & underwater hockey players are still encouraged to purchase additional medical travel insurance while traveling to scuba dive or compete in tournaments.
