 The Alberta Underwater Council is the representative non-profit body for underwater sporting activities in the Province of Alberta and is dedicated to the growth and development of all underwater related sports and its athletes. It is managed by an Executive Director and a volunteer board of directors.

Alberta Underwater Archaeology Society
The Alberta Underwater Archaeology Society provides an interesting alternative for the sport diver. The Society conducts activities in compliance with existing regulations and within archaeology principles so as not to unintentionally destroy prominent cultural resources. The plaque placed on the barge at the bottom of Patricia Lake at Jasper, marking Operation Habakkuk is an example of the Society's work.
