The Alberta Underwater Council is the non profit representative body for underwater activities in the province of Alberta since 1960. These underwater activities include scuba diving, snorkeling, free diving and many underwater sports such as underwater hockey.
Events.
The Alberta dive event season usually starts with the Jasper Aquathon on May long weekend. Thanks to many AUC volunteers, it has been held annually since 1962 and is a premier AUC scuba diving event celebrating it's 50th anniversary in 2012.
AUC Dive Alberta Events and/or Lake Cleanups are held every month during the Alberta dive season (from May to October) all around the province. A resurge of great attendance at AUC Dive Events in recent years is due to increased sponsorship of the local Alberta Dive Retailers, plus new members joining local dive clubs - as divers always need dive buddies. Also by environmentally active Alberta scuba divers wanting to "give back" by participating in the many underwater lake cleanup opportunities!
